Bulgarian Language School
Learning a language is an invaluable skill and from the inception of BEFS the founding members held a strong belief in the importance of passing on the heritage of the Bulgarian language and culture.
The Bulgarian Language School is an integral part of our community life where school age children have the opportunity to learn more of their heritage through learning the Bulgarian language and culture.
Give your children and grandchildren this wonderful opportunity by enrolling them in the school.
There is no charge for this service - it just requires commitment and support to enrich your children's lives.
Please contact the School via our contact form.
Bulgarian Orthodox Worship Services are conducted in Bulgarian and English every Sunday at 9.30 am.
Sharing our Culture
You are welcome to come and learn more about the Bulgarian culture by joining us for special events and monthly dinners.
The Bulgarian Women's Social Club
The Bulgarian Women’s Social Club was formed in 1965 as a social group for the Ladies to get together for social exchange and enjoyment.
Meetings are held on the 1st Wednesday in the month in the members room.
Over the years birthdays were celebrated, raffles were held many fundraising activities. In the past the Club was involved in organising cabarets and balls, once a year, as well as celebrating the usual feast days. Social get togethers included organised bus trips to the Barossa, Victor Harbour, Adelaide Hills and even a trip to Kangaroo Island by plane for the day.
Over the years the Social Club has raised quite a large amount of money, to upgrade seating in the main hall, i.e. chairs, stage curtains, and other refurbishments. When the members' room was built additional funds were donated by the Social Club
At one time there were over 80 ladies attending however over the years as the older members of the community passed, attendances have dropped.
The Social Club is still an integral part of the community life at BEFS. The Club are instrumental in organising the monthly dinners and feast days as well as organising going out to lunch for Christmas.
